Virgin Atlantic: €320 Open Jaw Flights Benelux – Johannesburg – Germany (With Luggage)

SkyTeam member Virgin Atlantic, in cooperation with KLM and British Airways, is selling remarkably cheap open-jaw flights to Johannesburg, South Africa. If you start your journey in Brussels or Amsterdam and return to a German airport, prices starting from €320 are possible, a price that even includes a checked bag up to 23 kg. Departures are available from January to March 2027.

Feel free to use our form to search and book these flights on Skyscanner or directly on the website of Virgin Atlantic (about €20 more expensive from Amsterdam, €50 from Brussels). We were able to find travel dates from January to March 2027.

The routing is always quite similar: you fly with KLM or British Airways to Heathrow, and from there to Johannesburg in a Boeing 787 or Airbus A350 operated by Virgin Atlantic. The same airline handles the return flight from South Africa to London, after which British Airways flies you from the UK back to Germany.

Search & Book

The fare rules do not impose any unusual restrictions for this offer, aside from a minimum stay of one night from Saturday to Sunday. In theory, the fare also allows free stopovers in London, but we were unable to find a bookable connection with this. We were able to find cheap tickets from January to March 2027.

Searching for these tickets is a bit time-consuming, as multi-stop searches do not support flexible-date calendar overviews. For this reason, you will have to click through different dates on Google Flights. Once you find a cheap connection, you can shift the outbound or return flight a few days forward or backward. Usually, you can find many cheap combinations this way. You can also try other German destination airports; however, we had no luck with Frankfurt, Munich, or Hanover.

For booking, several online travel agencies are available via Skyscanner – or for €20 more directly on Virgin Atlantic. Trip.com advertises these tickets for €415, but the selected connections cannot actually be booked.

The price for these tickets is unusually low – cancellations by the airline cannot be ruled out. Please keep this in mind when making onward travel arrangements.
