We already highlighted a business class offer from Turkmenistan Airlines on Friday: With a layover in Ashgabat, you can fly from Frankfurt to Bangkok in a lie-flat seat for less than €1,400 in a lie-flat seat. While there is no return flight, the airline also sells tickets to Beijing (€858) and Kuala Lumpur (€844) at decent prices.
According to the airline’s website, a total of 54 kg of baggage is included. This likely refers to the sum of carry-on and checked baggage. Please note that Turkmenistan Airlines is a dry airline (no alcohol is served).
Flights to Bangkok start at €901 – however, the round-trip offer is significantly more attractive there.
Using our booking form, you can quickly and easily search for the cheapest flights for your desired dates and then be redirected to Skyscanner with a single click. We have marked all dates for less than €900 in green. Otherwise, the tickets are not significantly more expensive.

According to Google Flights, Turkmenistan Airlines uses a Boeing 777 on all legs. However, there are significant differences within the fleet. The airline acquired the 777-300s with registrations Z-A781 and Z-A782 from Cathay Pacific. In business class, you can expect 40 reverse herringbone seats of the type Safran Cirrus II (1-2-1 configuration). However, they also operate 777-200s with 28 business class seats. Unfortunately, these can be described as outdated. While they do have lie-flat seats, the configuration is 2-3-2, similar to Turkish Airlines. According to Flightradar, the airline rotates the aircraft on all routes quite frequently.
If you speak German or know how to use your browser’s translation feature, you can find a detailed review of Turkmenistan Airlines’ business class on the Vielfliegertreff forum. The route and seats were the same as in this deal. The review is quite a wild read, ranging from numerous broken seats to children being invited into business class because it was almost empty. However, the service and food were praised.
A visa is not required for a layover at Ashgabat as long as you remain in the transit zone and avoid entering Turkmenistan.
Until December 2026, citizens of 34 countries in Europe may enter China for 30 days without applying for a visa.
Most European passport holders can stay up to 90 days in Malaysia visa-free, but they need to fill the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card.
Search & Book
We do not have the fare rules for this offer, so we cannot say how long these low fares will be available. Availability exists at least for the period from July to October.
You can easily find suitable dates with Google Flights, unless you want to go to Bangkok, as those connections are not displayed in the preview. However, these flights are only available on Saturdays, so there is no need to search on other days. Once you have found suitable dates, you can be redirected from Skyscanner to the airline.
Editor’s Note: In this day and age, finding one-way business class tickets from Europe to Asia for under €900 is rare. So, if you want to fly business class and have that “aviation geek” experience of flying with Turkmenistan Airlines, this is a great opportunity.
