Five star Skytrax airline Hainan Airlines is currently offering discounted economy and business class tickets from Brussels to Tokyo and Osaka. Economy class fares include a 23 kg checked bag and full onboard service, while business class features lie-flat seats on the Brussels to Beijing leg. Economy class tickets start at €695, and business class fares start at €2,004. Departures are available from late August 2026 through March 2027.

The long-haul flights from Brussels to China are operated by Boeing 787 aircraft, featuring 1-2-1 lie-flat seats in business class and a 3-3-3 configuration in economy class. Both cabins offer amenities such as personal screens as well as AC and USB-A power outlets. After arriving in Beijing, you will continue to Japan on a Hainan Airlines flight. On this shorter segment, business class features recliner seats in a 2-2 configuration.

According to the fare rules, this fare doesn’t have an expiration date. There is no minimum stay requirement to score this price. Departures are available from late August 2026 through March 2027.
Google Flights previews available flight dates reliably. We recommend buying them directly from the airline, but booking with Trip.com can be an easier experience, in particular with open jaw tickets.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Multi City
You can fly into Tokyo and out of Osaka (or vice versa). Plus, you can extend your layover in Beijing to explore the Chinese capital at no extra cost.
We recommend doing this on your return trip, as those flights already have a 9-hour layover and you will be less jet lagged.

Editor’s Note: It’s a good price considering it’s a 5‑star Skytrax airline with luggage included in economy class and that the other options for business class are at least €1,000 more expensive. My recommendation is that, even if you’re not actually visiting China, you should get an eSIM for China for your layover and have Alipay installed on your phone so you can pay at vending machines.
