Swiss rail operator Südostbahn (SOB) is currently running a promotion for train travel between Zurich and Chur. Under the Summer Hit deal, round-trip tickets are available starting at CHF 40 (~€43) or at just CHF 20 (~€21) for holders of a Swiss Half Fare Travelcard (Halbtax).
By applying coupon code SOMMER during checkout, an additional 5 Swiss francs is deducted from the price. This brings the final cost down to just CHF 15 (~€16) for a round-trip ticket.
The ticket is valid exclusively on InterRegio (IR) services, not on IC (InterCity) trains. The travel time between Zurich and Chur is approximately 1.5 hours. Prices per travel class (after applying the CHF 5 (~€5) coupon) are as follows:
With Half Fare Card:
- CHF 15 (~€16) in 2nd Class
- CHF 30 (~€32) in 1st Class
Without Half Fare Card:

There is no train binding, meaning you can board any qualifying train on the selected day. However, you must choose a specific date for your round trip when purchasing (both legs can be completed on the same day). Compared to Supersaver fares, savings with this offer are modest (CHF 15 (~€16) vs CHF 21 (~€23) round-trip). However, the Summer Hit ticket offers much greater flexibility: while you must lock in a travel date, you can board any IR 35 train throughout the day and make unlimited stopovers along the route—plus you get a free hot beverage.
