The Route
The expedition cruise begins in Cape Town, South Africa, with a pre-cruise night at a hotel allowing time to explore city landmarks, such as riding the cableway up Table Mountain.
Following embarkation, four sea days across the South Atlantic bring you to the volcanic island of Tristan da Cunha, the world’s most remote inhabited island. Lacking an airstrip, it is accessible only by sea. The cliffs and waters host millions of seabirds, including the endangered Tristan albatross, yellow-nosed albatrosses, and rockhopper penguins, along with resident marine mammals.
Next on the route is South Georgia, often called the ‘Galapagos of the Poles.’ The island features landing sites teeming with tens of thousands of king penguins and elephant seals. Historical sites include Grytviken, the former whaling station where polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton is buried.
The voyage proceeds to the Antarctic Peninsula for four scheduled days of exploration. Potential excursion sites include Mikkelsen Harbor, home to gentoo penguins and Weddell seals. Shore activities remain weather- and ice-dependent, supported by SH Diana’s Polar Class PC 6 hull.
The cruise concludes in Ushuaia, Argentina. Following disembarkation, passengers transfer to the airport for the included charter flight to Buenos Aires.

The Ship
The SH Diana was built in 2023 at the Helsinki Shipyard in Finland and is named after Diana, the Roman goddess of light, the moon, the hunt, and the wilderness. The ship is 125 meters long and 24 meters wide, accommodating up to 192 passengers with a crew of 127.
