Lufthansa and LOT Polish Airlines are offering premium economy tickets from Budapest to Seoul starting at HUF 342,800 (~€973). In Lufthansa’s premium economy, you are allowed one checked bag up to 23 kg and one carry-on bag up to 8 kg, along with a more spacious and comfortable seat. LOT also includes two checked bags up to 23 kg each, and offers a more generous carry-on allowance, permitting two cabin bags with a combined weight of up to 12 kg. Departures are scattered from August 2026 until May 2027.

Lufthansa flies an Airbus A350 to Seoul via Frankfurt or Munich (taking 11 to 12.5 hours), with intra-European feeders booking into standard economy. Our Travel-Dealz team prefers Lufthansa’s premium economy, as the seats are great for sleeping. LOT flies the Boeing 787 Dreamliner via Warsaw (taking roughly 11 hours and a half), featuring a dedicated 21-seat premium economy cabin for the long-haul flight.
Lufthansa offers a very good seat that’s available on long-haul flights from and to Frankfurt and Munich. The rest of the experience, however, is nothing special. At the airport you enjoy 0 (zero!) benefits as a premium economy passenger, and the food onboard is not exactly great either. At least you get to bring 2 x 23 kg of luggage.
LOT’s premium economy seats look like they are 50 years old. Nevertheless, LOT does have a few advantages. The seats are very wide, the recline is fantastic, and you enjoy all priority services at the airport (except lounge access). The recline however can also be a downside, as you’ll basically have the person in front of you on your lap (which is why reserving the bulkhead seats may be a wise decision). Another strange feature: The inflight entertainment screen is not on the back of the seat but has to be taken out of the armrest. Also, LOT has no wifi, not even for a charge.

Editor’s Note: Both options have available dates throughout the year. We’ve separated them by airline in case you have a preference for flying with one over the other. If you want to save some money, you can add an overnight layover in Warsaw on the outbound flight, which usually lowers the price a bit.
