While Bangkok has recently made news due to local flooding, SAS is once again offering heavily discounted one-way fares across all travel classes. You can fly from Thailand back to Europe in economy class starting at just €205 (checked baggage available from €21), in premium economy from €480, and in business class from €797.
Several connections to destinations across Germany and Central Europe are also available at attractive rates, though many require an overnight layover in Copenhagen. Availability spans from late October to mid-November 2026.

SAS operates flights between Bangkok and Copenhagen using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with a flight duration of roughly 12.5 hours. In economy class, seating follows a standard 3-3-3 layout with 79 cm of seat pitch. Premium economy passengers enjoy wider seats arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration with 97 cm of legroom. In business class, lie-flat seats offer generous personal space and direct aisle access for every traveler.
Connections to Billund and Amsterdam are available with short transit times in Copenhagen. For the remaining destinations, an extended layover between 12 and 24 hours requiring an overnight stay appears to be necessary. On the plus side, this offers an opportunity to explore the Danish capital. Connecting flights within Europe are operated in part by regional partners such as CityJet or BRA.
Alternatives
If the travel window or routings do not match your plans, there are several competitive alternative one-way options currently available:
- Economy Class: Chiang Mai → Frankfurt with Etihad from €190 (incl. baggage)
- Economy Class: Chiang Mai → Munich with Etihad from €190 (incl. baggage)
- Economy Class: Bangkok → Frankfurt with Air India from €248 (incl. baggage)
- Premium Economy: Bangkok → Frankfurt with Air India from €371 (
BKK→DELwithout true Premium Eco) - Business Class: Bangkok → Frankfurt with Turkmenistan Airlines from €702
Turkmenistan Airlines is also an interesting option for the outbound direction, offering one-way tickets from Frankfurt to Bangkok (or Beijing / Kuala Lumpur) from €770.
Search & Book
Unfortunately, the fare rules do not specify an exact expiration date for these discounted one-way fares. However, the valid travel period is strictly defined: October 26 to November 13, 2026.
You can theoretically use Google Flights to scout for dates. Note that calendar pricing might be unreliable, as the discounted rates frequently only appear once a specific travel date is selected.
Alternatively, you can search directly on SAS. Keep in mind that their booking system frequently filters out connecting flights that involve extended overnight layovers. In those instances, comparison platforms like Trip.com and Skyscanner are the better tools for searching.
