The Route (Example July 13)
Your cruise begins in Civitavecchia, a port city located about an hour from Rome. The ship departs in the evening, allowing you to start your journey with a relaxing day at sea. Your first port of call is Marseille. France’s second-largest city, which served as a European Capital of Culture in 2013, has steadily modernized and offers plenty to explore, including the historic Vieux Port (Old Port) and the 19th-century Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica.
Next, the ship sails to Villefranche-sur-Mer. Located on the southeast coast of France near the Italian border, this port sits inside a quiet bay and serves as an excellent gateway to the popular Côte d’Azur.
The journey continues via Genoa to La Spezia, which offers easy access for day trips to Florence or Pisa. The port is also known as the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Cinque Terre—five picturesque coastal villages nestled along the cliffs. After one final day at sea, your Mediterranean voyage concludes back in Civitavecchia.
“Early morning” usually indicates an arrival between 06:00 and 08:00, while “evening” generally refers to a departure between 18:00 and 20:00.

The Queen Victoria was built in 2007 at the Fincantieri shipyard and accommodates up to 2,061 passengers. The ship is 294 meters long and 32 meters wide. Onboard, you’ll find a blend of typical British elegance, refined luxury, and comfort, excellent cuisine, first-class entertainment, and a sophisticated atmosphere.
