Until May 24, 2026, Qatar Airways is offering a bonus of up to 50% when purchasing reward miles (Avios). To secure the best price, you must purchase at least 26,000 Avios in a single transaction. Including the 50% bonus, this results in a total of 39,000 Avios for €546.
Offers like these are sometimes personalized. However, this time, the 50% bonus appears to be the standard offer for (almost?) all accounts.
At 1.4 cents per Avios, this is by no means a price at which you should buy blindly; personally, I value them at 1 to 1.1 cpm (cents per mile). However, if you have a specific redemption in mind, the purchase can still be worthwhile. For instance, Business Class one-way flights from Berlin to Auckland start at 90,000 Avios + €366. If you were to buy all the required Avios beforehand, the effective cost would be €1,626:
