While transatlantic flights are often available at rock-bottom prices, things look a bit more bleak across the Pacific. This is especially true since Jetstar discontinued its flights to Hawaii, which were regularly available for double-digit prices.
Therefore, we went looking for other routes where affordable tickets are still available. We found great options both to/from Asia and Down Under. Here is an overview of these deals.

Heading West
For most travelers, it is easier to adjust to jet lag when flying westbound. So, let’s start with five options in this direction.
Zipair: USA → Japan from €157 (€235 with Luggage)
The cheapest tickets we could find are offered by the Japanese low-cost carrier Zipair (a subsidiary of Japan Airlines). Flights start at €157 from several US airports to Tokyo. However, this only includes 7 kg of carry-on baggage (which is weighed) and no meals. Including a 30 kg checked bag, you can book on zipair.net starting at around €235.
You can travel in a business class seat starting at around €660 (baggage and meals are extra here as well).

WestJet: Canada → Seoul from €255
The next cheapest option is operated by WestJet. Flights from Western Canada to Seoul, South Korea, start at €255. Although WestJet is primarily known as a low-cost carrier, these fares actually include a 23 kg checked bag and meals.
A few example connections:

- Vancouver → Seoul from €270
- Calgary → Seoul from €284 (nonstop)
- Kelowna → Seoul from €301

Singapore Airlines & United: San Francisco → Singapore from €298
While not quite the longest flight in the world, you certainly cannot complain about paying €298 for a 16-hour flight: you can fly from San Francisco to Singapore with Singapore Airlines or United starting at €298.
At this price point, Singapore Airlines is naturally the preferred choice, especially since they include 2x 23 kg checked bags. However, availability with United (which includes 1x 23 kg checked bag) is significantly better than with Singapore Airlines.
