Inclusions
The rates include full board with all meals, soft drinks, and daily crew gratuities. Almost all specialty restaurants on board (with the exception of the restaurant La Reserve) are included in the price. Furthermore, you will receive two Starlink internet connections per cabin at no extra charge, and you can use the free shuttle buses between the ship and city centers (where offered).
You also have a choice between:
- Wine & beer (champagne, red, white, or rosé wine, as well as a selection of international beers) by the glass during restaurant hours in both restaurants and bars
- or a shore excursion credit of US$400 (~€351) per person
Oceania Cruises is a luxury cruise line, which is why many amenities are already included in the base fare. However, there are still a few things that incur extra charges on board, including:
- Personal onboard expenses
- Additional services (e.g., salon treatments, massages)
- Shore excursions
- Alcoholic beverages
The latter two points only apply with limitations, as you can choose either the shore excursion credit or the wine & beer package at the time of booking (see above).
Unlike many mainstream cruise lines, Oceania Cruises includes daily gratuities in the base price. There is no automatic daily service charge added to your onboard account.

Route
Your cruise begins in Barcelona. The Catalan metropolis is one of the most popular travel destinations in Spain, boasting numerous sights including the Sagrada Família and the famous La Rambla boulevard, which is currently undergoing extensive modernization. The Oceania Marina departs the port in the late afternoon.
The first stop is Valencia. Here, a visit to the futuristic Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) complex is highly recommended. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it houses one of the largest aquariums in Europe. The Valencia Cathedral is also well worth seeing, and you can climb the Miguelete bell tower for panoramic views.
Next, the ship sails to Alicante. One of the highlights there is the Castillo de Santa Bárbara fortress, offering panoramic views of the city and the Mediterranean. The Museum of Contemporary Art showcases works by renowned artists such as Picasso, Miró, and Dalí, with free admission. The final Spanish stop is Málaga. Here, an excursion to the Alcazaba is highly recommended—a well-preserved 11th-century Moorish fortress with beautiful gardens and courtyards. Málaga also features several beaches within the city limits.
Following a sea day, the ship reaches Funchal on Madeira. This Atlantic island offers a botanical garden with a vast collection of exotic plants. Football fans may want to visit the CR7 Museum, dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo. After this stop, your Atlantic crossing begins with six consecutive sea days.
On Day 13, the Oceania Marina docks in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The historic old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983. Notable sights in Old San Juan include the San Juan Bautista Cathedral and the Paseo de la Princesa waterfront promenade. The final port of call is Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, home to the Caribbean’s only cable car, which takes you to the summit of Pico Isabel de Torres. The lively Malecón waterfront promenade is perfect for a scenic stroll. After 15 nights, your cruise concludes in Miami.

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$40 (~€35) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.
There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.
The Ship
The Oceania Marina was built in 2011, measures 236 meters in length, and is 32 meters wide. The ship accommodates 1,238 passengers and 776 crew members. The onboard atmosphere is comparable to a boutique hotel, characterized by warm colors, tasteful design elements, and elegant finishes such as Italian marble and polished granite.
The ship features 629 cabins and suites across various categories, ranging from inside cabins to the palatial Owner’s Suites measuring 185 square meters. A notable feature is the high proportion of balcony cabins, with nearly 90% of oceanview accommodations offering a private balcony with teak decking. Guests in Penthouse Suites and higher categories enjoy added luxury, including a walk-in closet, an expanded bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower, and the services of a personal butler.
In terms of dining, guests are offered a wide variety of choices. There are numerous specialty restaurants available at no extra charge, though reservations are required. These include the Polo Grill steakhouse, the French bistro Jacques, and Red Ginger, which serves Asian classics in a harmonious Feng Shui setting. For a more casual option, the Terrace Café buffet restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Public spaces also include an onboard theater hosting various shows, as well as a wellness area complete with a sauna, steam baths, and a wide selection of beauty treatments available for an additional fee.
The primary language on board is English, and the official onboard currency is the US dollar. Any additional expenses incurred during the cruise can be settled using major credit cards.
