Route
Your cruise begins in New York City, offering an opportunity for a pre-cruise stay to explore landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Central Park, and the Statue of Liberty. The ship departs the harbor in the late afternoon.
After a day at sea, the first port call is Halifax, Nova Scotia, where you can visit the historic Halifax Citadel or walk along the harbor promenade. Next, the ship stops in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where popular excursions lead to the Fortress of Louisbourg or along the Cabot Trail. Three ocean sea days follow as you cross the Atlantic.
The next stop is Ponta Delgada on the Azores island of São Miguel, known for the Portas da Cidade city gates and the nearby crater lakes of Sete Cidades. The ship then heads to Funchal, Madeira, home to the CR7 Museum dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo.
The itinerary continues with calls at the enclaves of Gibraltar and Melilla, the latter known for its concentration of modernist architecture. On the Spanish mainland, the port of Motril offers access to Granada and the Alhambra palace complex.
In the Balearic Islands, the ship stops in Ibiza—where you can visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town of Dalt Vila—and Palma de Mallorca, home to the La Seu Cathedral. After 16 nights, the journey concludes in Barcelona.

The Ship
Built in 2015, the Norwegian Escape can accommodate up to 4,200 passengers and approximately 1,700 crew members. She measures 326 meters in length, 41 meters in width, and reaches a maximum speed of 23 knots. The ship was constructed in Papenburg, Germany, and features 15 dining venues, multiple bars, a cinema, theater, casino, pool deck, and youth areas.
Notable onboard features include “The Waterfront” outdoor promenade, an expansive high ropes course with “The Plank,” an Aqua Park with the Free Fall slide, and the Mandara Spa, which includes a thermal suite and snow room.
The primary onboard language is English. The onboard currency is the US dollar, and incidental expenses during the voyage are billed to your account and settled via credit card or cash upon disembarkation.
