Editor’s Note: Although the dates are quite last minute, you have the convenience of flights from Frankfurt with Rail & Fly included, which makes getting to the airport much easier if you’re coming from outside Germany. It also saves you the hassle of spending a night there or worrying about missing the cruise due to any kind of flight issues. Last year, I did a three-week cruise from Fort-de-France, and the public transport from the airport as well as the city’s accommodation options weren’t exactly the best.

The Ship
The MSC Virtuosa was built in 2020 and is one of the two largest ships in the MSC fleet (Meraviglia-Plus class). It is 331 meters long and 43 meters wide. The ship has capacity for up to 6,334 passengers and 1,704 crew members. It features the “Galleria Virtuosa,” an indoor promenade with a stunning LED sky screen that hosts parades and music throughout the day.
Onboard, you will find five swimming pools, a large aqua park with slides, and a Himalayan bridge. For those looking for tech-driven fun, there is a humanoid robotic bartender, a 4D cinema, and Broadway-style theatre productions.
In addition to the main restaurants and a buffet that produces its own mozzarella, the ship offers various specialty restaurants (for a surcharge) including Mexican and Japanese Teppanyaki.
The main onboard languages are English and Italian, but staff members also speak many other European languages. The onboard currency for these Caribbean cruises is the euro.
