Flights & Getting Home

From Southampton, regular trains connect directly to central London and London airports (e.g. LHR, LGW). Scheduled flights for late 2027 will become bookable approximately 10 to 12 months prior to departure. You should budget roughly €100 to €150 for a one-way return flight to continental Europe including checked baggage.

The Ship

The MSC Preziosa (Fantasia class) was built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, entered service in 2013, and was renovated in 2016. It is 38 meters wide, 333 meters long, has 18 decks, and accommodates nearly 3,500 passengers and 1,400 crew members.

There are 2 main restaurants and a buffet restaurant. The speciality restaurant Galaxy (extra charge) is highly recommended for its unique Asian fusion cuisine and great views of the ship and its surroundings. There are also 12 bars and lounges where you can enjoy beer, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks.

In addition to a spa and fitness area and a wide range of cultural and leisure activities, there’s also a 120-meter waterslide. A casino, cinema, basketball and tennis courts, outdoor jogging track, bowling alley, and four pools (one covered) provide plenty of entertainment.

The onboard language is English. The onboard currency is the euro. Interestingly, the ship was originally ordered by the Libyan government but was later sold to MSC. Cabins are at least 16 square meters in size and include a safe, air conditioning, a telephone, a TV, and a minibar.
