Until 2022, the membership in the Leaders Club of the Leading Hotels of the World cost US$175 (~€151) per year. This concept has been dropped and the Leaders Club membership has been available free of charge since then. You just have to sign up via the following link:

Editor’s Note: While the Leading Hotels of the World may not be in the travel plans of most readers, this deal can truly save you quite a lot of money. We are talking about costly hotels, where most extras are equally highly priced. So getting breakfast, upgrades, late check-out, etc. for free is surely something one should take advantage of.
Benefits
The biggest benefit of the membership is definitely the free daily continental breakfast for two. You can also check in earlier or request a late check-out, depending on availability. If you have completed a paid stay, you can request an upgrade per year before arrival, and it will then be guaranteed. Otherwise, you will also receive an upgrade to the next higher room category upon check-in, depending on availability.
- Free daily continental breakfast for two
- Early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability)
- Upgrade to the next room category (subject to availability)
- One pre-confirmed upgrade per year (after the first stay)
- Free WiFi
- Leaders Club Exclusive Rates with an additional discount on the best available rate
There are two membership tiers in the Leaders Club. Club status is the entry-level, now permanently free of charge for everyone. If you spend at least US$5,000 (~€4,325) within a year, you will receive the Sterling status with additional benefits. More on this at the Leaders Club.
While it’s nice that you get these benefits for free when booking through the Leading Hotels website, you should always also check the hotel’s website first, before booking. Often, hotels have specific offers (e.g. early booking rate, or stay longer rate) which can be quite a bit cheaper than the member rate on the Leading Hotels website.
About the Leading Hotels in the World
The Leading Hotels in the World may not ring a bell to many readers, as they’re made up of under 500 hotels, with independent names. In essence, these are mostly very luxurious hotels that are not part of a major hotel brand but nonetheless offer a certain loyalty scheme through this joint program. Here are some examples of hotels where you’d get free breakfast and more with this offer:
- Barrière hotels
- Capella hotels
- Palazzo hotels
- Ritz hotels
- Rocco Forte hotels
- Sacher hotels
- and many more…
