La Compagnie is a boutique French airline with an unusual business model: its scheduled flights feature no economy cabin whatsoever—only business class. The carrier currently connects three European gateways with the New York metropolitan area, operating nonstop flights from Paris Orly, Milan Malpens, and Nice into Newark Airport.
The boutique airline has now announced its fourth transatlantic route, marking its debut in the German market. Starting in April 2027, La Compagnie will fly five times weekly between Düsseldorf and Newark. The flights will be operated by narrowbody Airbus A321LR aircraft fitted with fewer than 80 lie-flat seats.
This marks the return of nonstop passenger flights between Düsseldorf and the United States for the first time in over three years. The airport’s last remaining transatlantic service—Delta Air Lines’ route to Atlanta—was discontinued in late 2023. Historically, the Düsseldorf–New York market was served by carriers including Air Berlin, Lufthansa, and Eurowings.

Onboard Product
As an all-business-class carrier, every passenger receives a premium experience. While La Compagnie’s current A321LRs are configured with 76 lie-flat seats, preliminary seat maps for the Düsseldorf service display only 68 seats—it remains to be seen whether this represents a reconfigured cabin layout or blocked inventory. Fares include multi-course gourmet dining, free high-speed Wi-Fi, 2×32 kg checked baggage, advance seat reservations, and airport lounge access (utilizing the Sky Lounge in Pier C at Düsseldorf Airport).
La Compagnie currently operates a fleet of two Airbus A321LR aircraft and plans to double its size. A third A321LR is scheduled for delivery next year to enable the Düsseldorf launch, followed by an ultra-long-range Airbus A321XLR slated for 2028.

However, we expect promotional fares to drop considerably as the launch date approaches. On its existing routes out of Paris and Milan, La Compagnie regularly offers promotional sales with round-trip business class tickets priced around €1,400 to €1,600.
