Intercontinental Ljubljana

IHG One Rewards is back with a choice-based promotion, allowing you to earn an uncapped amount of bonus points for stays between May 20 and August 31, 2026. You must choose between earning 2,000 bonus points every second night or 8,000 points every fourth night. As our comparison shows, the second option is almost always the superior choice.

The promotion runs until August 31, 2026. You must register before your first stay to benefit from the promotion.

Conditions

The promotion is valid at all IHG hotels worldwide. Stays between May 20 (earliest check-in) and August 31, 2026 (latest check-out) count toward the bonus. Here are the key details:

  • Registration period: May 6 to August 31, 2026.
  • Stacking nights: The nights do not have to be consecutive. You can stay four separate nights at different hotels to trigger the 8,000-point bonus.
  • Qualifying Rate: Your stay must be a “Qualifying Stay,” typically costing at least $30 (or local equivalent) per night.
  • Exclusions: Reward nights (points stays) and “Points & Cash” bookings do not count toward this promotion.
  • Direct Booking: Only bookings made directly through IHG.com, the app, or at the hotel qualify. Bookings via OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) are excluded.

Which Offer Should I Choose?

Unless you are 100% certain you will only stay 2 or 3 nights total during the entire period, the 8,000 points for every 4 nights is the better choice. It effectively doubles the reward of the first option once you hit the 4-night mark. Here is how the bonuses stack up:

Nights Stayed 2,000 points per 2 nights 8,000 points per 4 nights
2 nights 2,000 0
3 nights 2,000 0
4 nights 4,000 8,000
6 nights 6,000 8,000
8 nights 8,000 16,000
10 nights 10,000 16,000
12 nights 12,000 24,000
Comparison of bonus points earned based on total nights stayed.

Example Calculation

Most IHG brands award 10 base points per $1 spent (Staybridge and Candlewood Suites award 5 per $1). If you spend four nights at a hotel with a room rate of $100 per night ($400 total), your earnings would look like this:

  • Base Points: 4,000 points ($400 x 10)
  • Promotion Bonus: 8,000 points
  • Total: 12,000 points (approx. value $60)

This represents a return of approximately 15%, not including any additional points earned through Elite status (Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond), which can add another 20% to 100% on top of your base points.
