At Flying Blue, discounted award flights are released every month. As part of the Promo Awards, you can receive a 25% discount on standard mileage rates across rotating routes.
September features one of the largest selections of Promo Awards seen in a long time. In business class alone, six different long-haul destinations are discounted, complemented by numerous attractive options in premium economy and economy class. However, you will want to book quickly: booking by September 7, 2026 ensures you lock in standard benefits such as free checked baggage, lounge access (in business class), and flexible cancellation options before new restrictions roll out.
Unlike the Miles&More Mileage Bargains, one-way bookings with Promo Awards are available for exactly half the mileage price.
For bookings completed by September 7, 2026, tickets can be changed or canceled for a €70 fee (plus any fare difference). Starting September 8, Flying Blue is scheduled to introduce Business Light award tickets (which lack complimentary lounge access and reduce checked baggage), while Economy and Premium Economy awards will lose their complimentary checked bag entirely.
All routes listed below are sample connections. These promotional award rates are generally bookable to and from airports across Europe.

Promo Awards in September 2026
The current Promo Awards are bookable through September 30, 2026. The travel window extends through February 2027, though on several routes, award space is concentrated closer to departure.
If you book by September 7, 2026, Business Class tickets include 2x 32 kg checked bags and lounge access. From September 8 onwards, the new Business Light award fare takes effect without lounge access and with reduced baggage, while Economy and Premium Economy award tickets will not include checked baggage by default.
You can find a complete overview of all discounted flights (including European short-haul routes) directly on the Flying Blue website. Taxes and carrier surcharges are not displayed on that landing page, and some connections listed require a paid Extra subscription.

Premium Economy Class from 30,000 Miles + €216
If Premium Economy fits your needs, several transatlantic routes and connections to Asia are available starting at 30,000 miles each way:
- North America:

Economy Class: Osaka from 22,500 Miles + €153 (and more)
In Economy Class, Osaka stands out as cash tickets to Japan remain elevated. If you need a one-way flight, 22,500 miles + €153 is an appealing redemption, especially while the 23 kg baggage allowance remains included:
- To/From Osaka:
- Hamburg → Osaka for 22,500 miles + €214

Additional discounts are available on selected routes to North America, Cayenne (French Guiana), and intra-European feeder flights like Amsterdam–Berlin.

Search & Book
Officially, these Promo Awards are bookable until September 30, 2026, for travel through February 2027. However, with the new award fare rules eliminating free bags on Economy/Premium Economy and rolling out Business Light awards as of September 8, booking early is highly advisable.
Because Flying Blue uses dynamic pricing, mileage requirements fluctuate significantly depending on demand, departure dates, and your starting airport.
You can search and book Promo Awards directly on AirFrance.com or KLM.com. Leaving the travel dates blank will display the lowest available fares across the monthly calendar:

How Can I Get the Miles Quickly?
If you are short on miles, options for topping up your Flying Blue account quickly without flying are limited, particularly for members residing outside France or the Netherlands.
Flying Blue frequently runs bonus promotions for purchasing miles. During these sales, prices range between 1.2 and 1.4 Eurocents per mile, which is generally steep for Promo Awards. The regular non-promotional purchase price exceeds 2 cents per mile.
Point Transfer from Membership Rewards
American Express cardholders can transfer Membership Rewards points to Flying Blue at a 5:4 ratio (in most European markets). That means you need roughly 113,000 MR points for a transatlantic round-trip in Business Class. If you have MR points available, consider comparing alternative sweet spots such as Iberia Business Class (from 50,700 MR + €110) or SAS (from 75,000 MR + €6).
Terms & Conditions
Keep the following rules in mind when booking Flying Blue Promo Awards:
- Online booking only: Tickets must be booked online via airfrance.com or klm.com. Phone bookings are only permitted for tickets involving unaccompanied minors.
- Dynamic pricing: Promo fares are capacity-controlled; not all dates or connections offer the lowest advertised rate.
- One-way or round trip: Unlike Miles&More Mileage Bargains, Promo Awards can be booked as one-ways for half the miles. Open-jaw itineraries can be constructed by booking two separate one-ways.
- Changes and cancellations: For tickets issued under standard rules (prior to September 8, 2026), changes and cancellations are permitted for a €70 fee (plus any difference in fare/miles).
