The Explora I is the first ship in the fleet of the luxury cruise line Explora Journeys. From August 24 to September 7, 2026, it will sail an interesting route through the Mediterranean. The journey begins in Civitavecchia (near Rome), and you can join this two-week cruise during peak travel season from just €7,448 per person.
This price applies to an Ocean Terrace Suite in category OT1 without the option to choose your cabin. Other categories with selectable cabins are available for an additional charge. Solo travelers can book this cruise from €9,804.
This special fare is only available until March 27!
Compared to booking directly with the cruise line, you currently save over €600 per person (around 8%) on an Ocean Terrace Suite in category OT2 with this special deal. Additionally, we can exclusively offer the more affordable OT1 suite category, which is already sold out with the cruise line.
This cruise is available on request at the following exclusive prices. We have a fixed allotment of cabins at discounted rates and are happy to check availability for your preferred category.
Do you have questions about the offer, need help, or are you looking for a cruise that suits you even better? Feel free to contact us via our inquiry form. We’re glad to help.
If you are a member of the Explora Club and hold at least Silver status, you can save an additional 5% on the cruise fare. The cruise line also offers a status match. If you’ve previously taken many cruises with MSC, you can transfer your status to Explora Journeys.

Itinerary
The cruise begins in Civitavecchia (near Rome), where you can explore iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon, as well as the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. Departure is scheduled for around 8:00 PM, heading toward Naples. There, you can take the funicular up to Castel Sant’Elmo for stunning views over the Bay of Naples and the Sorrentine Peninsula. The city’s underground tunnel network is also worth exploring.
Next, the ship calls at Capri, famous for the Blue Grotto. In the evening, a stroll across Piazza Umberto I (the lively main square) is highly recommended.
The journey continues to Calvi in Corsica, where you can relax on white sandy beaches or explore the charming old town. After a stop in Villefranche-sur-Mer, the cruise heads to Marseille, France’s oldest city. Highlights include the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica and the Old Port (Vieux-Port).
Further stops include Mahón (Menorca) and Barcelona, where you can admire Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces such as the Sagrada Família and wander along Las Ramblas. The next destination is Ibiza, known not only for its nightlife but also for excellent snorkeling beaches.
After calling at La Goulette (near Tunis), the ship continues to Valletta in Malta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with stunning baroque architecture and over 300 monuments in a compact area.
Additional highlights include Taormina (Sicily) and Sorrento before returning to Civitavecchia after 14 nights, bringing your Mediterranean journey to a close.

The Ship
Explora I feels more like a refined boutique hotel at sea than a traditional cruise ship. The atmosphere is calm and understated, with a strong focus on space, privacy, and comfort. Public areas are designed to avoid crowds, so even when the ship is full, it rarely feels busy or overwhelming.
On board, the experience leans heavily into relaxed luxury rather than flashy entertainment. Days are shaped by slow moments. Lounging by the pool, enjoying a long lunch, or simply watching the sea from one of the many quiet terraces. Service is attentive but unobtrusive, creating a sense of ease rather than formality.

Dining is a central part of the journey, with a variety of venues that emphasize quality and flexibility over rigid schedules. Guests can move between different cuisines and settings depending on their mood, whether they want something casual or a more elevated evening.
Overall, Explora I is designed for travelers who value space, thoughtful design, and a slower pace. It’s less about packed itineraries and big shows, and more about feeling at home while crossing the ocean in comfort.
