The Route
The cruise begins in Hamburg, Germany’s primary cruise port. The Costa Favolosa departs the harbor in the evening around 20:00 and sails first to IJmuiden. From there, you can take a day trip to Amsterdam. The journey continues to Dover, famous for its iconic white chalk cliffs, panoramic coastal trails, and Dover Museum.
Sailing via Le Havre, the ship arrives in Lisbon, Portugal’s capital. A ride on tram line 28 offers a convenient overview of the city’s main sights, or you can attend an evening Fado performance (advance booking recommended). Further European calls include Cádiz and Las Palmas on Gran Canaria, followed by six days at sea across the Atlantic.
The first Caribbean stop is Fort-de-France on Martinique, home to the historic St. Louis Cathedral and vibrant local markets. The cruise then proceeds to Guadeloupe, where the voyage concludes.

The Ship
The Costa Favolosa (Concordia-class) was built in 2011 and was last renovated in 2018. It is 290 meters long and 32 meters wide. The ship has capacity for up to 3,800 passengers and 1,100 crew members. It features “Cold Ironing,” a shoreside power system that allows the ship to turn off its engines while in port to reduce emissions.
Onboard, you will find 4 swimming pools (including one with a retractable glass roof) and 5 whirlpools. Entertainment options include a theater, casino, cinema, and a 6,000-square-meter wellness area with a sauna and Turkish steam bath.
The ship features 7 restaurants. The buffet and main restaurants are included in your fare. Water dispensers, coffee, and tea are available for free during breakfast in the buffet area.
