Inclusions
Costa cruises includes the following services in the cruise fare:
- Full board with all meals in the main and buffet restaurants (specialty restaurants are subject to a surcharge)
- Water, tea, and coffee during breakfast, as well as water in the buffet restaurants during opening hours
- Service charges and gratuities
- Access to most onboard facilities (fitness center, pool area including sun loungers, etc.)
With Costa, water, tea, and coffee are included during breakfast in the main restaurant and during the opening hours of the buffet restaurant. However, in the main restaurant and all specialty restaurants, you will need to pay for all beverages, including water. For this reason, booking a beverage package with Costa is often more beneficial than with other cruise lines.
Editor’s Note: A few weeks ago, I spent nine days on the Costa Diadema sailing from Lisbon to Kiel with the entire Travel Dealz team, and the ship was Costa Cruises’ usual standards. For the price and itinerary, I think it was excellent. You can always compare the price with the MSC Euribia that sailing from the same port and decide for yourself, but they visit more or less the same ports. If the price difference is significant, I’d say this option offers better value for money.
Route (Example: June 26 Departure)
Departing from Kiel, you will head first to Copenhagen before enjoying a relaxing day at sea. The itinerary then takes you to Hellesylt, Geiranger & Geirangerfjord, Ålesund, and Stavanger in Norway. Towards the end of the voyage, you can spend another day at sea exploring the ship’s amenities or simply unwinding before the cruise concludes back in Kiel.

The Ship
The Costa Diadema, launched in late 2014, was Costa Cruises’ largest vessel at the time and soon became known as the “Queen of the Mediterranean”. Stretching roughly 306 m with over 132,500 GT, she carries up to 4,947 guests serviced by around 1,253 crew across 15 passenger decks—an expansive ship built with Italian flair and plentiful amenities.

The cruise starts and ends in Kiel. This means you can easily travel by car if you come from the Benelux or Poland and use a local parking space.
