Chiang Mai to Europe: €159 Etihad One-Way Flights (€834 Business Class)

Several airlines are currently locked in a price war for flights from Thailand to Europe. We previously reported on SAS one-way tickets starting at €238 in economy class and €797 in business class. Now, Etihad Airways is joining the fray.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier is selling economy tickets starting below €200, while business class fares start at €826. If lounge access is important to you, expect to add roughly €100 for a higher fare tier.

If you need checked baggage, make sure to book the correct fare tier directly; adding bags later at the airport check-in desk can easily cost triple digits. Here are the most compelling prices:

All flights include a layover in Abu Dhabi. On the leg from Chiang Mai to Abu Dhabi (approx. 7 hours flight time), Etihad operates an Airbus A321LR. Economy Class features a 3-3 configuration with 76 cm of seat pitch. Business class offers lie-flat seats in an intimate 1-1 layout.

After a layover of around 1 to 2 hours (considerably longer for flights to Düsseldorf and Vienna), the journey continues to Europe, typically operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The 787 offers slightly more legroom in Economy Class with 79 cm of pitch, while Business Class is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. Depending on the route, select European sectors may also be operated by the Airbus A321LR (or Condor with an A330neo).

According to the fare rules, these tickets are bookable until September 30, 2026 for travel between October 25 and November 15, 2026.

Take care not to accidentally select a mixed-cabin itinerary where one of the segments is seated in economy class if you are booking business class.

Changes and cancellations are not permitted under the lowest fare tiers. If you book the Business Comfort tier (which includes lounge access, starting at approx. €960), cancellation is permitted subject to a fee of around €200. Third-party travel agencies may assess additional processing fees.
