With the Celebrity Constellation from Celebrity Cruises, you can embark on a transatlantic repositioning cruise in October 2027. The journey takes you from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Tampa and includes stops in Alicante, Málaga, Gibraltar, and Casablanca.
You can currently book a 16-night cruise in an inside cabin from just €806 per person. Outside cabins start at €906, while balcony cabins are available from €1,300 (prices per person based on double occupancy).

The cruise price includes full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) in the main and buffet restaurants, as well as coffee, water, tea, and iced tea during the buffet’s opening hours. Use of most onboard facilities and activities (e.g., pools, shows in the theatre, gym, etc.) are also included in the package.
Celebrity Cruises adds an automatic crew gratuity of US$18 (~€15) USD per person, per day to your onboard account for inside, outside, and balcony cabins. This fee can be adjusted or removed at the reception desk if you are not satisfied with the service.
If you live in Europe, we recommend booking through Travel-Dealz, and if you live in the USA, book via CruiseDirect, as long as the price difference is not significant. If the difference is considerable, you can choose the cheaper option, but keep in mind that the consumer guarantees are different for Americans and Europeans.
Editor’s Note: If planning ahead or the fact that it’s not the most newest ship in the fleet isn’t a problem for you, I think it’s a good deal, especially the oceanview cabin for just €100 more than the interior one. It’s for October 2027, so there’s plenty of time to plan ahead.
Route
Your journey begins in Civitavecchia, the port serving Rome. After departing in the late afternoon, you’ll have a day at sea to explore the ship before reaching Alicante, Spain. Highlights include the charming Barrio de la Santa Cruz and the historic Castillo de Santa Bárbara.
The voyage continues to Málaga, the birthplace of Picasso, and the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, famous for its wild macaques and views of North Africa. Your final stop before the Atlantic crossing is Casablanca, Morocco, where the Hassan II Mosque stands directly on the ocean’s edge.
The itinerary then features 10 consecutive sea days. This is the ultimate way to experience a transatlantic crossing, allowing you to fully disconnect and enjoy the ship’s premium amenities before arriving in Tampa, Florida.

Most Europeans need an electronic system for travel authorization (ESTA) to enter the USA for up to 90 days. This costs US$40 (~€34) and you should apply for it a couple of days before your trip, at the latest.
There are some cases where you cannot apply for an ESTA, e.g. if you’ve been to Cuba since 2021 or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, or North Korea since March 2011. In those cases, you’ll need to get a visa from a US embassy or consulate, which can take multiple weeks.
The Ship
While the Celebrity Constellation is over 20 years old, it is hard to tell. The ship was significantly enhanced in 2013 with Solstice-class features and underwent a further extensive renovation in the spring of 2024. Built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in St. Nazaire, France, it was designed as a luxury ship ahead of its time. As a result, the cabins remain highly competitive with much newer vessels.
The ship’s technical design, featuring electric pods instead of a traditional shaft drive and stabilizers, ensures a remarkably smooth and quiet journey. The deck furnishings are of high quality, and the small amenities provided by a premium cruise line like Celebrity help ensure a relaxing experience.
In addition to the standard outdoor pools, the ship offers a protected pool area located under a massive glass roof, perfect for all weather conditions. There are a total of three pools and four whirlpools on board.

Getting There & Back
The cruise starts in Rome (Civitavecchia) and ends in Tampa. As this is a one-way repositioning cruise, you’ll need to book a one-way flight for October/November 2027—depending on whether you plan to begin your journey in Europe or return from America. These flights will become available approximately 10–12 months in advance.
