In addition to discounted fares to Kuala Lumpur (from €1,145) and Bangkok (from €1,197), Turkmenistan Airlines also offers cheap Business Class tickets to a third Asian destination. Starting at US$1,274 (~€1,124), you can book round-trip flights from Frankfurt to Beijing, China.

All segments are operated by widebody aircraft featuring lie-flat seats, and 54 kg of checked baggage is included. Please keep in mind that Turkmenistan Airlines is a dry airline, meaning no alcohol is served on board.

One-way flights are also available at attractive rates: Frankfurt → Beijing from €733, and in the reverse direction from €626. Similar one-way pricing is also available to and from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

This fare is available for travel from November 2026 through March 2027. Flights in both directions operate exclusively on Saturdays. You can book these fares directly on Turkmenistan Airlines’ website, as they do not show up on flight metasearch engines.

Flights include a layover in Ashgabat lasting approximately 1 to 3 hours, with lounge access included (time permitting). On the return journey, take note of the early-morning departure from Beijing.

All sectors are operated by Boeing 777 aircraft, which Turkmenistan Airlines flies in two cabin layouts:

  • Variant 1: Boeing 777-200 with 28 lie-flat seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. Less privacy, but generous foot space.
  • Variant 2: Boeing 777-300ER with 40 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. These were acquired from Cathay Pacific and feature modern Safran Cirrus II reverse-herringbone seats (Registrations EZ-A781 and EZ-A782).

According to Flightradar24 (FRA – ASB / ASB – PEK), the Boeing 777-300ER featuring the ex-Cathay seats is deployed on almost all flights along both routes. This guarantees a solid hard product, though last-minute aircraft swaps can never be completely ruled out.

Reviews of Turkmenistan Airlines’ onboard product are limited, though more reports are surfacing as travelers take advantage of these fares:

In summary: the food is generally decent, the seats are very good (if you get the ex-Cathay 777-300ER), Ashgabat Airport is cavernous and nearly empty, and business class cabins regularly fly with plenty of open seats.

Entry & Visa Requirements

Citizens of many European nations can currently enter China visa-free through December 2026. This regulation has been extended multiple times in the past, and another extension remains plausible. If not extended, you will need to arrange a tourist visa or take advantage of China’s 144-hour visa-free transit scheme to a third country (or Hong Kong / Macau).

Transit in Turkmenistan is possible without a visa or transit paperwork, provided you remain airside at Ashgabat Airport.

Search & Book

It remains uncertain how long these fares will stay online. However, Turkmenistan Airlines’ pricing has been fairly stable recently and has even dropped slightly. Availability can be found from November 2026 through March 2027.

Since the route operates only once a week, the minimum stay is 6 days. Rebooking and cancellation conditions remain unstated, as no detailed fare rules are published on the carrier’s website.

These fares do not show up on Google Flights or the ITA Matrix. Because departures and returns are strictly on Saturdays, they are straightforward to find directly on Turkmenistan Airlines’ website.

Miles & Points

No frequent flyer miles can be earned, as Turkmenistan Airlines does not operate a loyalty program.
