Are you flexible with your dates and looking for cheap train tickets? If so, searching directly on Deutsche Bahn isn’t particularly convenient. In principle, the best price search is now integrated directly into the search form. However, if you want to check multiple days, you have to click through each date individually.
That is why we used to like using Bahn.Guru, which offered a practical monthly view. Unfortunately, the tool was shut down some time ago, but now there is a good alternative: Bahnscanner (clearly inspired by the well-known flight search engine Skyscanner).
There you can simply enter your desired route and set your preferred filters (e.g. departure time, travel duration, and mode of transport). Then you just need to select the month and, after a short loading time, you will get an overview similar to this:
If you click on a date, the individual connections for your chosen day will be displayed and sorted by price. Another click redirects you to Bahn.de to complete the booking.
After some initial teething troubles, we can now confirm that the displayed prices match those on Bahn.de.
