Etihad Airways Business Class Boeing 777 Seat

Etihad is currently offering very competitive fares in its business class from Athens to Australia. Prices start at €2,175 for flights to Melbourne. This is a business class Value fare, that includes checked bags, but not other perks like lounge access. The Comfort fare that includes lounge access, seat selection and a full refund is available for €2,371.

Warning

This deal comes with a low price, but a high risk.

Due to the Iran War, Etihad Airways is currently operating a very limited flight schedule. At present, around two-thirds of all Etihad flights are being canceled, and there is no foreseeable end to the crisis.

According to EU passenger rights, Etihad would at least be obliged to rebook you onto another airline for the outbound flight. However, these rights are regularly ignored by the airlines. In that case, you may have to pay upfront for an expensive replacement ticket and, if necessary, pursue reimbursement from Etihad through legal action.

In the worst-case scenario, such as a cancellation on the return flight, you could be stranded in Australia or the UAE and would have to cover all additional costs yourself, including replacement flights, hotels, etc. Travel and health insurance policies also generally do not apply in cases of war. In addition, most European governments issued travel warnings for the region, which also applies to transit in the Middle East.

Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest price for trips up to 28 days. It will forward you to Etihad with your selected flight dates.

All flights include a connection in Abu Dhabi. As noted above, only a very limited flight schedule is currently being operated there.

On flights from Europe to Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways is currently scheduling Airbus A320 aircraft. From Abu Dhabi to Sydney, Airbus A350 (with doors in Business Class) are shown, while flights to Melbourne are operated by Boeing 787. However, Etihad’s schedule is currently very volatile, and changes are possible at any time.

Visa Info

Most Europeans need a visa to enter Australia. You can apply for the visa online. It’s best to apply at least 1 month before travelling. The visa is free.

Search & Book

According to the fare rules, this deal will expire on March 24, 2026. We have been able to confirm departures in April and May 2026. Google Flights also indicates June 2026 flight dates, but in most instances, prices jump to €3,400.

Booking directly with Etihad allows you to deal directly with the airline in case anything goes wrong. However, because of the current flood of rebooking and cancellations the airline is facing, their customer service is completely overwehelmed. Purchasing tickets from online travel agencies like trip.com might ease your way to a rebooking. Booking the refundable fare for just €190 more seems sensible, in any case.

Miles & Points

Tickets are issued in booking class P. With Etihad Guest, you can expect around 19,000 miles in the Value fare.

Crediting to other programs should also be possible, but with many uncertainties. Most programs still list booking class P as First Class “The Residence” with 400% mileage accrual. In reality, it is quite possible that you will only receive 100% miles (i.e. around 12,100) or, in the worst case, no miles at all.
