A price war is currently underway among several airlines for one-way flights from Asia to Europe. We previously highlighted deals with SAS and Etihad, both offering discounted economy and business class tickets originating in Thailand.
Offering an even broader network of origins, Air India (Star Alliance) is now selling one-way premium economy tickets from several Southeast Asian destinations to Frankfurt starting at just €388. The valid travel period extends through December 2026, and 2×23 kg checked bags are included in the fare.
There is a catch to keep in mind: on intra-Asian connecting flights, Premium Economy generally translates to standard economy seating with extra legroom. Depending on your departure city, these regional sectors last between 4 and 8 hours.
We found discounted one-way fares on the following routes:
- Bali → Frankfurt from €388 (7h layover)
- Bangkok → Frankfurt from €388
- Phuket → Frankfurt from €388
- Hanoi → Frankfurt from €388
- Singapore → Frankfurt from €392
- Ho Chi Minh City → Frankfurt from €395
- Kuala Lumpur → Frankfurt from €395
- Tokyo → Frankfurt from €492 (10h layover, dedicated Premium Economy on both segments)
Business class is also available at competitive rates, e.g. Bali → Frankfurt from €902 (lie-flat beds on all legs).

All flights connect via Delhi. Depending on the route, transfer times range from 1 to 8 hours (though some options involve longer transfers). Airside transit in Delhi does not require an Indian visa—however, if you intend to leave the airport or clear border control, an Indian visa must be secured in advance.
With few exceptions, intra-Asian feeder flights do not offer a dedicated, separate premium economy cabin. Instead, you will fly on Airbus A321 aircraft featuring 81 to 84 cm of legroom in a standard 3-3 Economy layout. On the long-haul sector from Delhi to Frankfurt (approx. 10 hours), Air India deploys Boeing 787 Dreamliners fitted with a dedicated Premium Economy cabin in a 2-3-2 layout, featuring recliner seats with 94 to 97 cm of pitch.
Search & Book
We do not have access to the exact fare rules. However, availability appears to run from early October through December 2026.
Scouting available travel dates can be tricky. Google Flights does not show prices in the calendar overview, displaying fares only after a specific date is selected. You may find it easier to search directly via Trip.com or Skyscanner. Tickets can be booked on OTAs starting from around €380 or directly on Air India’s website from roughly €392.
Other carriers are currently offering competitive one-way fares as well. For instance, Turkmenistan Airlines offers one-way Business Class tickets from Frankfurt to Asia from around €770.
