Air France Lounge FRA T3 2

Frankfurt Airport’s new Terminal 3 opened its doors in April this year. While it already featured three airline lounges, all of them were located in the non-Schengen area. This meant that passengers flying with airlines like Air Europa, KLM, Iberia, or Finnair often had to undergo an additional immigration process to access a lounge before their flight.

Update

Although not explicitly stated in the official terms: A user has reported in the comments in our German site that they were denied entry with a Priority Pass and an EasyJet flight. This suggests that Priority Pass access might be restricted to those flying on a SkyTeam airline.

The need for extra passport control just to visit a lounge is now over. As of yesterday, September 1, an Air France Lounge has opened within the Schengen area of Terminal 3. It operates daily from 05:00 to 21:30, and its access policies are relatively broad, welcoming:

  • Travelers with a Business Class ticket on a SkyTeam alliance airline (excluding Business Light fares)
  • Travelers with SkyTeam Elite Plus status on any SkyTeam flight (+ 1 guest)
  • Travelers with a Priority Pass (possibly only with a SkyTeam flight; see comment)
  • Finnair status holders and Business Class passengers, potentially + guest (Source)
Air France Lounge is one of three Priority Pass lounges in FRA T3
The Air France Lounge is one of three lounges accessible to Priority Pass members in Terminal 3.

According to Air France, the lounge spans nearly 500 square meters and can accommodate up to 120 passengers. This means it could get quite crowded during peak hours, and Priority Pass access might be subject to restrictions.

While showers appear to be absent, the lounge does feature a dedicated seating area for Flying Blue Ultimate elite members. Air France’s press release highlights the lounge’s direct views of the apron and its selection of French wines and Champagne. Renderings also suggest a semi-automatic boarding pass scanning system for entry.
