Star Alliance member Aegean Airlines has launched a new network-wide sale. According to the airline, you can get up to a 50% discount on the base fare for economy class flights, depending on the travel period and fare selected.
The actual discount is slightly lower in practice, as taxes, airport fees, and surcharges are not discounted. Still, you can find excellent deals—for instance, round-trip flights from Berlin to Thessaloniki start at just €89. For the ComfortFlex fare, which includes checked baggage and free seat selection, the total comes to €128.
This promotion is valid until September 2, 2026. The discount tier depends on your chosen travel dates:
- September 15 to November 8, 2026: 25% discount
- November 9 to December 16, 2026: 30% to 35% discount
- December 17, 2026, to January 10, 2027: 20% to 25% discount
- January 11 to February 28, 2027: 40% to 50% discount
- March 1 to March 31, 2027: 20% to 25% discount

The Light fare includes only an 8 kg carry-on bag (no personal item). Star Alliance Gold members are allowed one complimentary checked bag even on Light fares. Aegean Airlines flies nonstop to Athens and Thessaloniki from several European hubs. Connecting to the Greek islands is seamless via either hub. Flights are operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft featuring a comfortable seat pitch of 71 to 76 cm (28–30 inches).
Some island routes are operated by turboprop aircraft from their regional subsidiary, Olympic Air. Note that Olympic Air is not an official Star Alliance member, meaning Star Alliance Gold perks may be limited or not apply on select regional legs.

Discounts range between 20% and 50% depending on your chosen travel window. As noted above, off-season winter dates (especially in January and February) yield the steepest discounts. Another perk: hotels across Greece and its islands are significantly cheaper during this period.

Under the Light fare, tickets are non-refundable and changes incur a €60 penalty fee plus fare difference. The Flex (approx. €10 surcharge per direction) and ComfortFlex (approx. €20 surcharge per direction) fares are substantially more versatile, allowing rebookings without any change fee (you only cover any potential fare difference).
