Abu Dhabi: €220 Non-Stop Etihad Flights from Athens in Late 2026 (€246 With Luggage)
Etihad Airways has put a nice price tag on its non-stop service between Athens and Abu Dhabi, selling tickets from Greece to the UAE for €220. This fare includes full board service, but no checked bags. The cheapest fare including checked bags is available for €246 on trip.com.
Warning
Departures are available in November 2026 and January 2027. While this is far into the future and current risks may not apply then, as of writing, the UAE are involved in an ongoing military conflict.
According to EU passenger rights, Etihad would at least be obliged to rebook you onto another airline for the outbound flight. However, these rights are regularly ignored by the airlines. In that case, you may have to pay upfront for an expensive replacement ticket and, if necessary, pursue reimbursement from Etihad through legal action.
In the worst-case scenario, such as a cancellation on the return flight, you could be stranded in the UAE and would have to cover all additional costs yourself, including replacement flights, hotels, etc. Travel and health insurance policies also generally do not apply in cases of war. In addition, most European governments issued travel warnings for the region, which also applies to transit in the Middle East.

Etihad deploys Airbus A320 and Airbus A321neo aircraft between Athens and Abu Dhabi. These feature the usual 3-3 seating in economy. Etihad offers no personal entertainment systems on these aircraft. You will be left with your own devices to stream media during the flight.

However, because of the current flood of rebooking and cancellations the airline is facing, their customer service is completely overwhelmed.
Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?
More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:
Better Customer Service In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.
This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
Baggage and Other Fees Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.
Editor’s Note: Prices are currently approx. €100 cheaper than usual on this route. If you feel optimistic that the Iran War is solved by November, you can save money by securing these tickets ahead of time. While we have seen offers for less than €200r/t in the past for these flights, we don’t expect them to return soon amidst surging flight prices.
