Flights include a layover in either Beijing or (less frequently) Chengdu. Long-haul segments are operated by Airbus A330 aircraft in a comfortable 2-4-2 seating configuration with 79 cm of seat pitch. Regional connecting flights within Asia last between 1 and 8 hours depending on your destination, operated by aircraft such as the Airbus A321 or A330.
Many options feature short layovers of roughly 1 to 4 hours in China. However, some itineraries involve longer transfers of up to 8 hours or even overnight stays. Fortunately, eligible transit travelers do not require a standard visa for these connections thanks to China’s 24- or 144-hour visa-free transit policies.
Note that Air China operates through Russian airspace. While this allows for substantially shorter flight times compared to Western carriers, some travelers may have personal or safety considerations regarding this routing.
With the exception of Indonesia, most passport holders (such as EU, UK, or US citizens) can visit all of the destinations listed above visa-free for short tourism stays. For Indonesia, a Visa on Arrival (approx. US$35 (~€31)) is required. Always check your country’s official travel advisories for the latest entry requirements.

According to the fare rules, this deal applies to departures until December 14, 2026. While the rules list November 30 as the expiration date, prices may increase at any time without advance warning.
The minimum stay is 3 days, with a maximum stay of 3 months according to fare rules. However, make sure to verify local visa regulations, as visa-free tourism stays are often restricted to 30 or 45 days.
Scouting dates can be somewhat tricky. ITA Matrix is not particularly helpful for this fare, and Google Flights frequently only displays the discounted price after you have manually selected both an outbound and inbound date. You can just as easily search directly on Skyscanner (from €352) or utilize the flexible +/- 3-day search tool on Air China’s website (from €381).
